I am installing a Prestige APS 785 in a 2003 Ford Escape XLT. My question is about the wiring of the keyless entry, from previous posts I read the unlock wire is WHITE/ violet and the lock wire is pink/white. I belive it is (-)

The alarm wires are red is pulsed ground and the green wire is pulsed +12.

I am unsure on how to do this and would like some suggestions before trying it.

Thank you for your time

Pink/White and is negative trigger. You required 2 relays and 1K ohm resister to do the job.

When you turn the key in the driver's door, do the doors also lock/unlock? If you have a factory alarm in there, you'll notice this also flashes the hazards, and arms/disarms the factory alarm. This is the best way to do it, and both wires are straight negative trigger, no diodes or relays needed.

Notes:
Note: This vehicle is equipped with a passive immobilizer that needs to be bypassed for remote start operation only. Use DEI part number 555S to bypass, and also use the BLACK/ pink (+) key sense wire at the steering column to interrupt the blue wire on the 555S so that when the key is inserted to do take over the vehicle does not see two transponders at the same time. Refer to directfax document #1079 for wiring information. NOTE: The GEM (generic electronic module) is behind the center console on the floor. Pull off the black panel to the right of the gas pedal, there will be carpet covering it. The plugs face the driver side of the vehicle. *1 This wire is rated at 10 amps only. If installing any system with high current outputs, go to battery for 12v. *2 Lock requires a negative trigger thru a 1,000 ohm resistor. Unlock is a negative trigger. Must use relay on both. *3 This wire rests at ground with the doors closed, and it is an open circuit with the drivers door open. Use a relay to interupt this wire to turn on the dome light. *4 On the ZETEC motor use GREEN/ purple or lt GREEN / WHITE at the coil pack. The Duratec motor has a coil for each cylinder, go to any one and use the wire that is NOT WHITE/ purple. *5 May be in the SRS harness. Use a meter to test to avoid setting any codes or deploying the airbag.

Sorry if I wasn't entirely clear in my last post. If the locks operate while turning the key, you want to find the wires that are listed as "factory alarm arm" and "factory alarm disarm" in the above tech sheet.

The locks don't operate when turning the key. Do I connect the green wire from the alarm (pulsed ground) to both the lock(pink/white) and unlock wire(WHITE/ violet)? Many people have said that for this vehicle no relay or resistor is required.

My other question is the remote start. The vehicle has the Duratech motor and each piston has it's own coil. Will any of these coils work for the tach wire needed for the alarm.

Thank you for all your help!!!

your tach on the escape is always pin number 78     4 or 6 cyl. on the pcm it is under the hood against the firewall . as for the door locks the door lock module is to the right of the gas pedal behind that black plastic panel. there are two wires that will show ground for locks with your test light, don't use them they work most of the time but not always. try using the yellow red for onlock and the orange black for lock. this requires no diodes and no relays. i do not suggest going to the coil or the injector... have seen many injectors lock open and flood the block (i work at a ford dealer)

Thank you misterjimbo for the information. It is much appreciated. I am still unclear which wires on the Prestige APS785 are connect to the yellow/red(unlock) and ORANGE / black(lock) that you mention to use. On the Prestige the lock wires I have are red(pulsed ground) and the green(pulsed +12V). Do I need to use both the red and green wires? Does the red wire(alarm) go to yellow/red wire(Ford) and the greeen wire(alarm) to the orang/black wire(Ford). Thank you for your help

on the prestige alarms when you press lock on the transmitter on wire shows 12v and the other one shows gnd and vice versa with unlock. red goes to yellow/redstripe and green goes to org/blk stripe. i have not done an escape in about a month and i have the worst memory, but my wire colors are correct, so worse come to worse you will just have to switch red and green.
