Just got a few questions for you guys who may have learned the hard way...

Got a DEI  VIPER690XVR in a Ford Focus.

I'm gonna add 3 extra sirens (for a total of 4) and 2 Mini Piezos.  Think It would be a good idea for a relay?
Will the relay be able to react fast enough to work correctly with the warning chirps?  Should I use a "Mini-relay"?
Or can the alarm handle the load?

Also....   Got a DEI 508D Proximity Sensor installed.   I adjusted it pretty well when I put it in.  Within about a foot of the car, it would "warn-away" and wouldn't go off unless you stuck your head inside an open window pretty far.  Worked great like this for like a month and 1/2.  Then, for no reason at all, with nothing around, will just sit there and chirp, and go off for no apparent reason.  Got this thing working in conjunction with a glass break and shock sensor as well.  Any ideas?

-Mike

Hey reat alarm by the way, one of the best.  I have the VIPER790XV on my car and have a total of 7 sirens on it.  4 under the hood and 3 in the air vents.  What I did is put two sirens on every relay.  If you put all the sirens directly to the alarm brain you might fry the alarm brain and the alarm can only provide so much current so putting them all on the brain would do no good.  About the prox problem.  I had mine in the car for almost a year now and had to reset it about a million times.  The reason you have to reset it is if the temp gets colder its range increases, but if it gets hotter its range diminished.  I almost have the same system you have and try to put the prox somewhere where it will be easily accesible since you are going to have to reset it about once every month or two.  Hope this helps.

7 sirens??  WHAT FOR???  posted_image I've been using the Omega Psyren (psycho siren) for a while now...ONE siren is obnoxiously loud, and the layered tones make it sound like 10 alarms are going off.  I can see putting piezo's inside (ahh...pain generators)  Yep, relays will be more than quick enough....just wondering over the long term how long they'd last tho....click click click all day, everyday.  I'm sure the long term performance will be sufficient...
