Diode isolation

            I installed a Prestige aps-785 on a 2001 Dakota, and I diode isolated the door triggers. The problem is that at the time of the install the triggers worked  fine but a couple of hours later the sistem gets trigger and the alarm goes off. I used diodes rated for 1amp at 50v . And the shock sensor or the other triggers are not the problem because i did check them all. On the diagram I have the trigger should be  a the yellow wire at the courtesy lamp under the dash, but there is no such thing under there. I used the wires from the front and rear door triggers(on this truck if you open the rear doors only the rear dome light turns on, and the same for the front). Any ideas as of why this is happening? any help will be appreciated.

I would pick up the dome trigger for ALL doors...might require some digging, but will be worth it.  Remember, the diode faces different directions depending on + or - voltage.

I have done a few of these.  After an uncertain amount of time the door pins will float at or near ground, when the BCM shuts down as a power saver feature.

To work around this you have to go directly to the BCM which is in the drivers kick panel.  You should require four diodes. Twist two of them ,bands together, and cut one of the door pin wires.  Install the diode #1 with the bands facing the pin and the non-band side facing the BCM.  Attach the non-band side of diode #2 to your door trigger wire. 

Repeat the above for the last 2 diodes on the other door pin wire and join to your door trigger wire.  After that is done power up the trigger wire (before the diodes) through a 1kohm resistor. 

Power will stay on the wire and it will not see the bcm shutdown and power will not be able to get to the bcm and cause problems because of the extra diode there.
