Which vehicles should the key sense shut-off wire be used to prevent the computer from seeing 2 keys and either going iton lock-doen mode or erasing the keys? I know my Passkey III can see 2 keys and the car will still start, but I am not sure about other vehicles.

I know most systems probably only look for a key for ashort period after the car has been started, so it may not matter in most cases, but I would like to know as much about this so I dont ever have to run into the case where someones keys get erased and they get stranded, or something bad. I suppose it cant hurt to just hook up the wire to shut off the bypass module, but it is still good info to have.

hi i know pk3 will trip the light if it see's 2 keys .newer fords with securlock keys can potentaly lock up the pats module i have heard of them doing this with those speed pass at gas stations a friend of mine had to have his towed because of that the dealer had to unlock wouldn't come out of theft mode.thats all i know for sure.best to use keyless module then you don't have to worry.

well a keyless module should be no different than using a key. The keyless module simulates a key so the system think that it is seeing a key. I mean its not like the anti-theft computer can tell the difference between a transponder in a key and a bypass module simulating the key. I guess I could be wrong about this though. I guess I do have a keyless module in my Chevy and I can remote start, and before it cranks I can put the key in and turn it to on and hence the system should be seeing 2 keys (the bypass module and the key) but there is no adverse effect on the system at all. Maybe if I had installed a universal bypass it would not work. Someone has to have stories of things happening. Or what do you guys do when it comes to transponder bypass modules?

OK Here ya go. On the newer chryslers (durango's, pt cruisers, 300m, etc) that have the gray keys,you can lock the car up. I service a chrysler dealship and I have done it (but feel free to learn first hand if you choose). If you install a remote start in one fo those cars, program a bypass or use a universal bypass, remote start the car with bypass and a key in the ignition 3 times it will lock the card down for 24 hours, and there is nothing anyone can do to get around it. The mechanics with the chrysler DRB diagnostic tool couldn't do a dam thing with that car till the next day. Just a little heads up.

hi the keyless module that i use you cut the data wire so the car wont see two key until you step on the brake to release the car starter and then the module is inactive because it loses it's trigger signal. If your talking about the pellet type of module that you program in like a key then yes you could run into problems with dual key signals.
