I drove up the other and night, got out of my truck and locked it with the factory remote like I usally do. As I was walking I notice the siren on my truck is going off, but its at a very low volume. I tried to arm then unarm the truck and when the lights blinked, the siren got louder, but when they went off, it got quiet again. Whats going on? I left it because I thought maybe something got wet and if I let it dry over night it will fix it self but it never stopped. Finally I just unplugged the battery. So two days later I comer back to the truck and plug the battery in, hoping that the alram doesnt do what it was doing...it still is. So my only option was to cut the + wire from the siren. How can I fix this? Is it bad wiring? Did something get wet? Whats the deal? I have had this alarm for almost two years now, and this has never happened.
Thanks.
BTW,
Its an audiovox alarm/remote start unit.
Check the ground on the brain unit. If the ground has comes lose or dirty, the brain tries to draw ground through what ever curcit it can.
Most likely a bad ground... pretty sure...

It does sound like a ground to me.

so I should check the main grounds from the brain?
You should check ALL the grounds that pertain to the alarm system, and the siren.
But start with the battery ground terminal first. Simple things such as loose or dirty contacts. If the system continues to give an off sound when arming, varify the battery voltage is at 12.80 VDC
Do a simple test on the siren as well, to see that it is not about to fail either.
Remove the siren and connect it to the battery directly, if you let it sound off for 2 minutes continously, and the sound / pitch does not alter than you can rule this out as being one of the faults.
FYI: Use ear protection at all times, when sounding any siren device.
