will the factory alarm on this car disarm with the doorlocks? can i simply do a pulse before remote start to unlock the doors and disarm the factory alarm, and then pulse after start to relock the doors? so i can avoid running a wire into the drivers door to grab the factory alarm disarm wire? i know this works on older hondas/acuras, just trying to make sure so i can quote the job right.

thanks
Mike

if you dont use the disarm wire and unlock b4 rs and lock after rs, the customer will not like it, it defeats the whole purpose of car "security".

long time ago, someone said on this forum that theyve been permanently disarm the fact by ground it. i permanently grounded my friend's car (98accord) and everything seems to went well w/o a problem for a year so far.

honda use harness as a grommet at the door, so its hard to get wires through there.

Anyone else tried this? That could be pretty helpful in the future?!?

no, it doesnt defeat the whole purpose of car security, either way if you use a pulse before to disarm the factory, or if you use the unlock to disarm the factory security, either way the factory security is being disabled while the car is remote started. however, it is easier from an install point of view, to pulse the unlock (as long as the factory security disarms with unlock)before remote starting, and then pulsing the lock wire after remote starting. the car is only unlocked for about 5 seconds, while it cranks and starts and then it relocks the doors. it beats running wires into the door for disarm anyday.

the remote start you're installing should have a factory disarm wire.....or simply use any wire that gives off a negative pulse before remote starting....if you're lookin for wire color it should be a white wire in the window harness...it should read ground when you disarm the alarm from the remote.....
