My daughters BMW316 has an inoperative car alarm with no remote. The alarm system appears to be an after market product with no manufacturers ID. The only information visible is the following code 9903-600A-2234.  Can anyone assist with manufacturer identification from that info.

What year BMW. BMW came out with Alpine alarm systems for many years. Does the brain module have a green plug on the long end of the casing ?

Ahhh an alpine, you are correct jeff. Im guessing that its around a 82-84. The only major thing the alarm does is have a starter interupt. I took them out all the time when i worked at a bmw dealer. If you wish to keep the alarm you may go to the dealer and purches a new remote but i doubt that any would still know how to program them.

It's a 1995 316 series.  The brain module has three white plugs on one of the shorter ends, when you disconnect one of those plugs with three wires, the central locking activates.  On one of the longer sides of the module there are two small plugs, the wiring from those goes to a hidden red push button and the LED.  Alongside those plugs are three white and two black what appear to be blind plugs which I guess are some sort of bridges.  Appreciate your input.

Is there any way you can get a picture of the module and post it on this site ?

Please find enclosed a photo of the "Mystery Alarm"posted_image

If anyone can ID, would also appreciate advice if I should persist with trying to locate a remote or maybe instal a new alarm.  It does appear to operate OK but a little difficult to control without the remote.

Appreciate the input,  Cliff

From my experience a new remote typically costs from $40 to $70 dollars. You could easily get a new alarm and a remote starter for a little more than that, and since the wires are already found the install would be easy. The remote starter features would only require you to hook up a couple more wires than the alarm, so that is why I mentioned that too.

Definitely an aftermarket deal there. I agree with jrilla on his suggestion about getting a new alarm. See that all the wires are already there, just havet o cut and solder and your done.

Ok now that is weird. It looks like the alarm i just pull out of a 1999 mercedes. The one in the mercedes was made by DRS. I would have to go with the other guys and say to put in a new alarm and Rs.
