I am installing a Valet 554r into a 2002 Chevrolet Blazer Extreme 2WD Manual transmission. I am also installing a Peripheral NSS (Neutral Saftey Switch) so it wont get started in gear. I can't figure out how to bypass the clutch during remote start? Has anyone had experience with an S-10 or Blazer with a manual transmission? There are 5 or 6 wires coming off the clutch. Help!

the Valet 554 is NOT to be installed in anything but an automatic transmission vehicle....... buy a dedicated manual transmission combo unit, like the Autostart AS-6070TW or equivalent......

I agree with kgerry, I would only use a dedicated manual transmission RS unit with your vehicle. The NSS unit says it will allow you to safely add a RS unit to a standard transmission...thats up to you. I normally dont comment on on automatic RS units on a manual transmission but this NSS unit looks like if properly installed should keep it safe.

Use your DMM and look for 2 wires that show continuity between each other when the clutch is depressed. Short those same two wires together with the clutch out and try to start. There may be 2 pairs of wires you need to do this with. Give it a try.

On most clutch switches you have wiring for the cruise control and the starter safety switch. Make sure you test for the safety switch by fully depressing the clutch. From looking at the install guide, you want to use the light GREEN/ black from the RS to close the bypass relay.

Is there anyone who has actually done a remote start on a manual extreme? Also, does anyone know of a place to get the peripheral NSS cheaper than $50?
