I am trying to install keyless entry in my 92 honda prelude that doesnt have power door locks.  I got the actuator installed no problem but i cannot get the Keyless entry to do anything.  Ive wired the relays like it said on this website and also tried the diagram here (https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/104.jpg).  I can hear the keyless system click but it doesnt affect the actuator at all.  The keyless system is the audiovox AARS-30cs which is also a remote starter but i am not using that function of it.  I looked at the instructions and decided that only one power wire is needed if you are just using the keyless entry stuff.  Maybe thats where i have gone wrong but the rest of the wires are like ignition switches or something like that so i thought that was only for the remote start stuff plus like i said, it i can hear it switch.  Anyway, anthor odd thing is that when i ground the wires that are supposed to be grounded coming out of the relays, they do not spark.  The power to the relays is from the same source as the power to the control module for the keyless entry and it has power.  Maybe its not powerful enough to spark but i thought it was odd.  In case you are not familiar with this remote start system, the system unlocks and locks using the same button on the remote.  I have never seen this before so i thougth that might be my problem too.  Any help is very very much appreciated but please remember that i am a total newbie at this sort of thing.  If you have any questions for me i am going to be monitoring this topic so i will reply quickly.  Ok please help if you can.  Thanks.

if you wired it exactly as the diagram says then you should have no problem. There are three possibles though. Check and make absolutely sure you have the right wires from the keyless entry hooked up correctly to the relays. Check the ground for the relays and make sure it is a good ground. There should be NO spark when you hook this up. Spark is bad!!! If this is good, then change the power wire on your relays. Make sure it is fused (prolly 10 amps should work) and hook it up to it's own power supply separate from the keyless entry. If niether of these work, then the actuators could be the problem. if you looked at the correct diagram on this site then they are identical diagrams.....so either one

oh jeez.  I think i am over my head.  But hey, thank you very very much for the replies.  I will give it all another go tomorrow and hopefully it will work.

Wait a minute, the one here shows the 85 on one relay and the 86 on the other being connected to +12v.  But the one i linked has only the 85s connected to +12v.  I dont understand how they are the same diagram.

Hey i did it!  I just wasnt getting any power to the relays for some reason.  But i fixed it.  This website rules.  Without it i would never have even known i needed relays to do this and would still be sitting in my car staring blankly.  Anyway, thanks alot robbie2883.

congrats man....this site can answer alot of questions for ya. and as for the 85 and 86 pin....they pretty much do the same thing..as long as ground comes in on one and power on the other it doesn't matter which pin the power goes on...or the ground for that matter.....take a look at the relay eplinations here on this site....you will learn alot from it and learn just how unlimited the possibilities are when it comes to using a relay
