I want to install an aftermaket alarm system, but I was told that the factory sec sys has to be bypassed.
What's involved???

Thanks

If your just adding an alarm, there is nothing special that you have to do.  the factory alarm arms with lock and disarms with unlock.  So as long as you hook your power doorlocks up on the alarm...you should be fine!

Thanks eurotech, but the problem is that I don't have the remotes and it seems to be armed now. Iwas told that it can be reset by unhooking the battery for a few and reconnecting, but every time the door gets unlocked it will arm again.

It arms everytime it unlocks? hmm....are you sure you are just dealing with the factory alarm?  What happens when the alarm goes off?  Does it disarm when you unlock the door with the key?
