Greetings
Have done a few alarm installs - but its been a while.

Went through instructions today and understood everything but this:

There is a harness with 8 wires; 6 of which have to do with door lock/unlock.

Instructions say:
"The SEC-8028 includes two onboard relays for locking and unlocking the door lock system, without the need for external relays. The relays are switched internally when the security system is either armed or disarmed."

the 6 wires: (labels as in installation insturctions)
1. WHITE/ brown - Door lock Common (30)
2. BROWN / Blue - Door lock N/C (87A)
3. BROWN / red - Door Lock N/O (87)
4. GREEN/ red - Door unlock N/O (87)
5. WHITE/ Green - Door unlock Common (30)
6. GREEN/ Blue - Door unlock N/C (87A)

Now the instructions said I would not need external relays, however these wires are labeled with labels in () that are obvious need for relay..? Also, there is a diagram of a "Standard relay for reference" and says "The coil contacts (85 & 86) are not needed they are controlled within the main unit."

I am installing this in a 1991 MR2 NA.

My question is do I need two external relays. If so how to hook up? If not how do I hook these 6 wires up to my unlock/lock triggers in the car?

Thanks! I know this isn't the deepest question - but hopefully so simple one of you can help me out very fast.

IyS

No need for external relay required for the alarm. This internal relay system can accommodate all the various types of door lock systems .

if you locks are negative trigger:

connect both 87s to ground.  <-- think of these as the 'ground supply' to the output wires ( the 30s)

then connect the 30s to L and  UL in the car.

draasch:
Not sure what you mean. According to wiring diagram:
L = Black (-)
UL = BLACK/ yello (-)

Thanks derek123! Exactly what I needed.
So leave the 87A alone completely?

Thanks again!
