I installed an alamr on a 2000 Ram today. When I remote started it the check engine light stays on. Then I started it with the key and it comes on again. I reset the computer (taking the neg. batt. terminal off) and when i start with the keyit Does not come on, the i remote start and it comes on, and then with the key.

Any one know whats wrong.?

Second ignition needs to be powered this will happen everytime. You must have not conected it, you are lucky the light went out without a trip to the dealer find the second ignition and make sure you power it while remote started. Look for a BLACK/ orange wire at the ignition this should be the problem wire.
