How can I figure out what the hell a ignition input and output is in a 1990 Honda Prelude. The manual for the alarm gives the same description except one is input and one output.

The ignition input and output are the same wire ( BLACK / YELLOW ). They do two different things for the system, one is to sense that the vehicle has the key in the ignition ( this is the input ) and the other is for remote start ( output wire ) to engage the igntiion system.

ignition in and out is the same wire its purpose is to sense when the key has turned on the ignition and to disc ignition from an aftermarket alarm already in the car. if you dont have an aftermarket alarm you dont have to worry about ign out.
