He's talking about the "pro" version, not the free download "consumer" version that's on the clifford site.

Do you need to use it with a laptop, or can you connect the alarm directly to a PC, without being connected to the car?

alarm has to be connected in the car so that you can diagnose it.

Thanks, so for diagnostic, it needs to be connected to the car.  How about if you just want to program it?

In that case I dont see why it would not work.   Try to connect all the ground wires (I believe it is one) and all the positive red (I think 4 pieces).   and maybe ignition input too.
