I have been unable to program the 555C w/ an 04 Wrangler. Following the factory key programming process it appeared to work once, but 555C did not program and I now cannot get the Jeep to preform factory process, no sentry light indication etc. on dash when following the factory procedure. The Jeep still starts fine with the factory keys. My wait-to-start circuit on the Intelligard 4 appears to be intermittent also.
Is there any alternative way to program the 555C if I can't get Jeep to preform factory learn mode?
is this your first time with a 555c? You have to have two factory keys, and program just like the instructions say, on the second key you have to wait untill the led starts blinking twice telling you you are in progrming mode if it doesnt blink twice you never made it to programing, tell me whats going on and i can help but i wont be back untill tomorrow.

I have heard it is possible for the dealer to lock out the ability to program new keys with their scan tool. That could be your problem.
Also, on some 2004 Chryslers the 555c doesn't work because Chrysler has changed the key to a new transponder version. The programming procedure is the same, it just uses a different chip. If you can't even get into programming, that won't be the issue. I haven't done an 04 Wrangler, and DEI doesn't list that year in their database yet.
I believe the 555c install book says to turn the second key on for 10 seconds and then the light will flash and you'll hear the ding. From what I have seen it usually takes longer...probably closer to 15 seconds.
You should also try having powering the accessories during wait-to-start during programming because many systems including dei's don't power the accessories during wait-to-start. On newer units it's a programmable option.
