does it matter if I place the resistor on the lock/unlock wire itself or should I place it at the ground screw if using a relay?... I seem to get stumped once and awhile with certain vehicles... some work first time everytime and some are a lil more of a pain... Just wondering if anyone else has run into this and found out the best way it worked for them...

Yes, it matters. You put the appropriate resistor on lock and unlock wire. If you put the resistor at the ground then both lock and unlock will have that resistance.

you put the resistors on the lock and unlock out put wires coming from the relays, the only time i seem to be puting the resistor before the relay is on chrysler vans.
