Relays or Diodes?

First post, thanks to all for the good info. I am doing an install in a Mercedes 560SEL. The window switches are open on both sides at rest. I therefore have to supply 12- in addition to 12+ for rollup. I can do this either with a relay for each window or one heavy relay using diodes. I don't mind using the relays but relays are a lot of extra wiring etc if diodes will handle it.

USE WINDOW ROLL BOX DEI 529 T $ 29 IS FASTTER AND SAFTLY

The 530t window control mod. from DEI might be a better option because it will control two windows both up and down. A 529t will only control one window up and down or two windows either down or up. The 530t will also add "one touch" operation to the 2 windows both up and down. But either one you go with is definately faster and safer ,as xtremeaudio said, than using relays and/or diodes.

if i want 4 windows, i need to buy two 530t?

It really depends on what you want to be able to do.

4 windows up and down = two(2) 530t

2 windows up and down = one(1) 530t

2 windows down = one(1) 529t

2 windows up = one(1) 529t

4 windows up = two(2) 529t

4 windows down = two(2) 529t

1 window up and down = one(1) 529t
