I have a prestige 996A installed in a 2002 mustang gt.  When we get in the trunk using the remote the alarm goes off.  I did not install the trunk pin.  If I install a trunk pin will that stop the alarm from going off?

Depends on the alarm system. Most alarms can be programmed to dis-arm with the trunk pop. Others, always asks the user to disarm, then pop the trunk.

Look up the manual and see what it says about this.

it sounds like the either the alarm is programmed for current sensing. or when the trunk it release the dome light turns on as well as the trunk light. either way installing a trunk won't fix the problem.  i agree w/ teken.
