I have a 92 ford explorer installed with a Clifford Advantguard 4. Lately ive been having small troubles with the alarm. The alarm is able to control the head lights and the parking lights. Well now when the road gets bumpy or there are vibrations they flicker. So the first thing i thought was the wire must be loose. I traced the wire and put it on a multimete. Well i would turn on the headlights with the remote and nothing would happen, and the multimeter didnt show any juice. But, but i would unplug the inline fuse and then turn them on with the remote i would get 12.xx volts. And it would keep doing that same thing. I would try to jiggle the wire see if its a loose connection but they would stay off. The headlights still come on because they are on a differant circut, but the tail lights and parking lights are the ones with the problems. Any ideas?

Second small problem is that the alarm keeps triggering the door trigger. I think this might be a loose wire but ill have to double check.

Third Problem is that this has been a problem the whole time ive had the alarm. I think it might be the brain. If i remote start my truck, then its like the brain doesnt take over after i put the key in the ignition. If i was to get into my truck start the engine, then if its dark outside it will auto turn on my lights, and when i turn the engine off then it will unlock my doors. But if i remote start my truck then when i get in put in the key, turn the ignition on, and hit the brake, at that point the nothing happens. The brain doesnt pick up where the intellistart left off like turning on my headlights at night, and it doesnt unlock my doors when i turn off the ignition. Not sure if anyone can help with that problem though. THanks

Justin

i went out there again and tested it with the multimeter, the lights worked fine, the wire the the unit must be coming loose some how. As far as the door trigger goes, i tested it again. With the drivers door open it shows 12volt, then when i press the trigger it goes right down to 1.5mv and hovers for a second and then drops to around .3mv. With it being so late at night i wont be able to test with arming it until the morning. Because when i arm it, it imediately sounds the alarm and it take a second to get it to stop.

Sounds as if you have some loose connections.  You didn't use those cheap T-Taps did you?

Do it right the first time
