I installed an A/S on my 03 Taurus and all i need to do yet is the keyless entry, I have a GEM module and all of the wiring charts my alarm has - trigger outputs for lock/unlock can i just connect to the proper wires at GEM or is there more to it then that? also i remember having to wake up the GEM on my brothers Explorer when we installed a unit on his truck last year and remember not using any relays for his locks,

 thanks

usually to wake up the GEM module you need a second pulse from the unlock wire to wake up the module and unlock the doors at the same time, having said this I have never had a problem with the Gem module not waking up and usually you can just connect to the unlock wire and everything works fine.  Just my opinion though.

I believe your door lock wire are at the smart junction box below the fuse box.

What would cause the unit to keep rearming and triggering an alarm while i have the door and hood open?, I have the passive alarm set to off but somthing is causing it to rearm and trigger, it is a mannix sm700 a/s,

all i have hooked up are the door locks to pink / YELLOW & pink/green at gem, dome light supervision at kick panel and door trigger input,

 thanks

if the alarm is arming with the door open, it sounds like you dont have the door trigger wire hooked up...

should use this wire in the car:
Dome Light YELLOW (-) AT INTERIOR LIGHT

the alarm may have it listed as a - door trigger

I must of hooked it up wrong, I have the trigger input going to 87a as part of a + relay  with 86 to - dome light output at alarm 85 & 87 to +12v & 30 to dome light wire in kick panel, I get dome light on when i use mannix keyless entry/alarm disarm but am getting the triggering/rearming when the doors are open,

 OK,

I found that leaving the hood open triggers an alarm when rearming occurs,

I have the 30 on relay to black with light blue strip that shows +12v when door is opened with a test light, it only triggers an alarm when hood is open but the alarm keeps rearming with doors open or closed and i have this option turned off,

Lastly this unit only has one (-) ignition output  trigger but i have two items wired to it with out using diodes as directed in my manual and it works fine but am worried that this might not be a good idea and am open to comments on this,

 thanks for the help,
