Personally I love it. I have had the fewest problems with it. I have used code alarm, dei, and audiovox mainly. I strictly use audiovox on my personal and families cars. At my new place of employment we only use audiovox as well. I love the aps 996a and the aps 786 for combo units.

i have reinstalled it for customers and programed remotes, it seems like solid equipment, they want a lot for an extra remote though.

I've installed tons of 686's 786's 996's and love them, they are priced right to make a good profit and have a very low failure rate. the only complaint i have with them is their programming, if your not right on the ball when you go into programing it can be a pain, DEI seems to be much easier to program.

just my 2 cents.

In a straight line with no obstructions I have gotten 2500 feet. But consistently 800 on trucks, and about 600 to 700 feet on my personal car in real life situations. The nice thing about the 996 is all the extra functions. Like temperature sense and all the cool timers and things. You can get a temp reading on the remote, it is pretty cool.
