Hello everyone.

I am in the market for a full-featured alarm system with remote start. Crimestopper has a system intergrated with remote start and 2-way verification (LCD remote) (model # CS2015FM).

Full alarm and it has TACH-LESS remote start. I have NEVER done a remote start nor have I installed a CS brand alarm. Is this type of system safe? I mean no tach, would it not over-rev the system?

Would anyone recommend or steer me to another brand or just what?

This is going to be installed in my 94 Accord EX (strange I have not done any 5th Gen. Accords yet).

I mean any advice would be greatly appriciated! Im looking to buy soon.

Some of my other choices include: An over priced Python 1000, Prestige APS785, Ungo system (I love that Chirp!!), and maybe the Omega Excalibur.

Thanks everyone!

no tach is bad because the starter moduale will or may try to start the car even if it is still running. get an alarm with tach. and well crimestopper is ok but check into other types same functions. .

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

Jon is right, you really want something that at least has the tach option. The crime stopper piece should have both. That way, if you get unreliable operation from the tachless operation, you can switch it to tach sensing. As far as another system goes, I heard from Omega today that they are coming out with a nice combo system. It's a full featured remote start/alarm combo called the Omega MAX. The cool part about it is that the 2-way pager is an option that will just plug in. It is called the Omega Echo. Apparently, it will have a customizable screen that allows you to change the vehicle from a car to a truck or to a van/suv graphic. There isn't any pricing yet but it is based on their crime guard 850i3 combo system which is a very nice system. It's what I have on my car and works wonderful. Very good quality. Unfortunately, the Max won't be out until around the end of november but should be comparable in price to other systems on the market.

WOW!

Thanks for all the advice guys! I had no idea the TACHLESS option is not a good idea.  I thought it would be less painfull trying to find the tach wire. But, for safety, I think I will find a unti that has it. I have narrowed my choices down to as follows:

ALARMS

PRESTIGE APS 875 (ALARM & REMOTE START) [7 CHANNELS!]
AVITAL 3300 ALARM/REMOTE START (I hate the factory remotes on these, makes a kid want to play with them!)

Some type of Viper or Python I think... I dont know. I feel they are good because the shock sensor is onboard and not separate like on these others. What do you think? Is that something I need to be concerned with?

UNGO with remote start just because of the chirp, I like that different sound. I know, I m weird. I cannot find anyone in my area here in Columbia, SC that has a good deal on these.

What honestly I am looking for is FULL-Alarm, remote start (2-way is not that important), a bunch of channels (neon, radio, TV,etc.), EASY install, and a good warranty since a dealer may not be installing the unit..

Jeff, I like the Aladdin, but there is something fishy about it I still dont feel comfortable about. I need more info I guess.

Thanks again everyone for your assistance this far. Please pass more advice if you have any.
