I am asking the the same question again with further info.My vehicle is a 2003 dodge ram with coil-on-plug ignition system, seperate coil for each cylinder mounted on top of the spark plug. Can I use the tan/red wire off one coil to feed the tach wire?,that wire would only "see" spark for one cylinder.
Is this for Remote Start? Your RS should pick it up........You can also use the odd color wire on Fuel Injector......on a lot of RS units

Is this for the van or the truck ?
For the van: At the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is on the firewall by the wiper motor.
For the truck :
NOT GREEN/ orange | ac | ignition coil, coil pack, or injector |

I don't recommend using an injector. You will get unexpected results depending on which cylinder the vehicle is firing on.

I have done this to many vehicles that I could not access the tach wire for and none of the systems that I have installed into have given me problems. The vehicles are all functioning properly and have not heard back from any of the customer's about it. The thing is that the RS monitor's the singal from the wire and is ONLY an input ( not an output ). If you have had previous problems with another installation, then I would say it was not tach related if you got the signal from an injector, but I have heard of weirder things when it comes to vehicle ignition systems.
