I have a code alarm ca640 installed in my tacoma. It used to work great but recently the remote start hasn't always been working. It will crank the engine then immediatly kill it. Also, when arming the system it beeps like it is supposed to and the lights and led flash correctly but about 10 seconds after arming it will beep one more time. I thought it might be the hood pin but I checked that and the door pin. Everything checks out with the wires, Any help on this would be great. Both of these started happening around the same time.

posted_image It sounds like it might be set up in Smart Start mode and you may have to find a tach wire and hook it to the remote start tach signal then re-program the brain for TACH signal. or if it has KEY SECURITY, it may have lost the bypass module's signal (blown fuse on bypass module?). COde Alarm has real good Tech support and is now owned by Audiovox. Go to https://www.codl.com for support unless you are and authorized dealer or installer then they have another web site.
