Does anybody know when you lock a late model GM car with the Passlock II how do you recover it correctly.  I have read many posts but all of them seem to have a different way of doing it.

Leave the key in the ignition and have it turned to the ON position for about 15-20 minutes ( up to 30 for some vehicles ) and the Passlock light will flash the entire time. Once it resets, the light will go out and you can start the car again with the key. Is this what you were looking for ????

yes it is, also can you confirm this.  I have heard the the drivers door HAS to be locked and closed or it would not work.  Can you tell me if this is true or do these two factors have nothing to do with the reseting portion.

That is not true. I just did an Intrigue the other day where I had to reset the Passlock II and I had the door open for the longest time and then I closed the door and still had the door unlocked.

The other way to reset the Passlock II is to remove the ground from the battery, but then you have to wait up to 1 hour for this and you also need the Theftloc code for the radio to be reset if it's been set once before.
