It is time to replace my CrimeStoper FM2005 (I think) witha new system. The CS has been gradually losing range. I have installed a Viper 791xv in my sister's car and it seems to work well. I have been considerign this as a replacement.   I know this is a good system, but I would like to know if there are better options for $250 or under?

i think the autopage 855lcd is a much better remote start the the viper 791xv in my opinion. It has a lot more features than the viper and is cheaper you should be able to find them for about 150-160 online.

Thats the first time I have heard someone say that autopage is better than viper. What features does the autopage have that the viper doesnt?

well the minor things are the driver paging and the temp sensor which are not significant but its something. Also i have seen and installed both. And i think that the autopage is more reliable than the viper. im not saying the viper is bad by anymeans. but i think that all around the autopage is better. I install them everyday and have yet to be dissapointed with them. very easy to make a clean install and it has many programming options that make it an outstanding alarm/starter
