Installed Pro-Start remote car starter on 2000 Hy Accent (MANUAL) By-passed clutch kill switch for intial test and starter worked fine.  Then installed relayed clutch by-pass and everything went downhill from there.    Now when I try to start car, solenoid clicks on starter, but not enough power to crank.  Performed test on battery, which reads 12V when car is off.  But when the I turn on any of the lights, interior or exterior, or any other electrical accessories; the Voltage drops quickly. Example from 12V to 7V in secords and keeps dropping but slower after that.   

Any advise would be appreciated, as my fraustration level has evolved into something else.  And my spouse is ready to make that call, so the men in white can come take me away.

ok, what wires did you hook up where exactly.  also what do you mean by relayed clutch by-pass?

 Daniel,

The ground out when running wire for the starter, was being shared and required signal stregthening provided by the added relay swtich. 

The wire hook up are are follows, one went to 12V, one to ground, one to the clutch kill switch, and one to the ground out when running. 

I should also mention, that when I experienced the problem, I removed the relay and put the wires back to its original position as if I never performed by-pass.  But I am still having the same problem.

OK, try this now.  On your clutch there shuld be a connector with 2 wires in it, just try to jump those two wires and let me know what happens.  Not sure why you needed to go rhough the whole trouble of bypassing that you did, but see what happens when you do this since it should just start without having to press the clutch.

     It sounds like you have some kind of current draw that is making your battery weak. You should first double check your wireing on all the relays to make sure that none of them is energized as this will cause this symptom over night. If all checks out then connect your clutch switch back like it was from the factory and see if the problem is gone or not. If no then unplug the main unit and see if it is the problem. If you use a ammeter and disconnect the neg. side battery terminal and measure the current draw off the battery with everything off and doors closed and no interior lights on there should be less than about 30 milliamps draw. This will very depending on what kinds of accessories your vehicle has installed aftermarket.

Is the car able to start with the key? The remote starter could still be an issue even though it tested fine before you put the clutch bypass in. Try unplugging the brain from the harness and also any relays you might have added during the install. Sounds like a relay or something shorted and is fusing power directly to ground. Charge your battery up and then try starting again using the key. Then turn engine off and put a light on to see if anything is still draining the battery.

To clarify, my battery in not dead or dieing.or week.  Just when I turn on any of my accessories, there is a heavy draw on the battery.  When I turn them off, the battery jumps back to 12V. 

I had the whole starter to work without pressing the clutch.  Thats where I should have stopped.  But the instruction advised my to install a relay as a safety feature to ensure that when manually starting your car you would need to press the clutch.  Only when using the starter, would the clutch be by-passed.  When I tried to do this, I started having my problem.  I reversed everything I did, so  I was back to the point where I had everything working before the relay was installed (factory setting), and I still have the same problem.  I disengaged the remote starter completely, and still the same problem.  Now the electrical accessories are drawing too much from the battery and I dont know why.

If the battery drops to 7 volts while cranking or especially if the key is just in the on position, the battery is DEAD!   To  draw enough amps to drop a good battery to 7 volts would burn every fuse and melt every wire in the igntion switch.

A fully charged battery should read 12.6 or higher with everything off.  If it is at only 12 volts then the charge is really low and if it ever drops to 7 I'd say get a new battery.

That does sound right.  However I do find it odd that the battery would go at that perticular time and seem like a much more complex problem.  To follow on the battery being dead that would explain why the battery would read 7 volts when I turn on the parking lights.  And slowly drop to a lower Voltage.  I think I will try to get another battery and see what happens.

Before buying a new battery go to the local mechanic and they can put a meter on it and give it a load test. If you have a bad cell they'll be able to tell you right away usually for free.

I took a battery out of another car I have which works fine and works fine.  It would seem that the battery is pooched.  It is Ironic that it happened at that perticular time.   I would like to thank everyone who posted help for me.  Thank you very much.

  I just sold a 95 Bronco that had the original motorcraft battery from the day i bought the truck new from Ford, the battery died the day before i sold the truck to a friend and it was 9 years old and never gave me trouble, i was in total disbelief,
