Hello all,

I have a 2003 Alero GX. When the car was new it did not come with keyless entry, so i had it installed by an audio shop in my old town. The system they put in was a DEI/ACDelco keyless entry kit. I have no idea what the numbers on the unit are. The numbers on the remote are EZSDEI476 if that helps. Anyway, I lost my book during my move and I was wondering how I can disable the horn honk feature when I lock/unlock my doors. I now live in a quite area with lots of duplex units and I would like to turn this feature off but I have no idea how.

Thanks for your help...

you'll have to ascertain what model you have... it's the # on the module under the dash, not the remote part # on the transmitter....

Ok, I think I have what you need. The system is GM's VKE1000 Keyless entry made by DEI. P/N 12463355. Hope this helps.

On the module inside the dash you will find four screws. Take out the 4 screws and cut the RED wire loop on the circuit board. This will eliminate the lock/unlock chirps, but retain the horn operation for panic.
