Have a viper 550esp installed on this vehicle, started fine with remote start and with key. Been like this for almost a month now. Today went out to try and start the car and the ignition was dead, nothing. Tried to remote start it, same thing. Turn the key to the on position and tried to remote start it and it fires right on up, till i pressed the brake and then it died right back out again. Could it be that the ignition switch went out and that's why it's acting like it is?? If so, how would that let the car start with the key in the on position and not when the key is off??

Have you checked ign. connections and/or fuses?

Okay, it's been alil while since i posted this topic, but here it goes again LOL. So I went back through and rechecked all of my ign. connections, even resaudered the connections and made sure they were really taped up good. Then I checked the fuse and found that it blown and was causing the problems. Well a month later and the problem came back again. I rechecked my connections and they were fine. So I rechecked the fuse, and even switched it with a new one and nothing happened. So my only other guess would be the ignition switch? I dont see how, but that's the only other guess I have for this problem. Any ideas people?

Red wire at the igniton switch has a tendency to blow fuses...don't recommend using it for power input to the remote start as it will cause the vehilce not to start.

Most cars from dodge / chyrsler have two wires at the ignition switch that have constant power

Pink/black  and red.

Pink / black should only be used or run and dedicated power wire back to the battery.

This goes for sebrings, stratus, intrepids,  and I think a couple of others.

The cars are also notorious for having harness's that look like they are plugged all the way in but actually not. Go push on all of the harness going into the fuse box under the dash and push on the harness going into the cylinder. Check all fuses under the hood and in the fuse box, if one of the ecu fuses blew then the car wouldn't run either.
