I've been trying to install a remote starter into my 2001 LS and am having some issues with the trunk release. Since I purchased the car used about 6 months ago the release button in the cab hasn't worked, but the remotes always work so I know it isn't a solenoid. So now I am trying to hookup the aftermarket remotes and I can't get them to work. All wiring diagrams I have come across say that it requires a negative pulse to a white wire either behind the switch or in the REM in the trunk. There isn't a white wire on the switch, only a BLACK/ white and BLACK/ green, but I can't get either of them to do anything, and I can't even locate the white wire in the REM. Any suggestions, with getting the switch to work or the aftermarket remotes?

On some vehicles the trunk wire will be BLACK/ blue at the switch.....check that.

This according to the astrochart!!

Double check the BLACK/ green you said you found.......might it be blue?

what is the polarity coming from your remote starter???  Your trunk release is a positive.

Isnt there an actual lock on the door panel that lets you lock the trunk. Or is that Cadillac...I can't remember. Anyways if there is try unlocking it and then try the button in the car. Keep us filled in yo.

The polarity from the remote starter is (-), and the only switch inside the car for releasing the trunk has BLACK / YELLOW and a BLACK/ green wires, I was looking at the wrong wires before. But like I said that switch has never worked. I have tried everything!
