could I just unplug the factory security system? I installed a remote start w/keyless already. The problem is if the customer locks the doors with the lock switch on the door the system will arm. Then my system will tigger it.

Some subaru security systems can be put i valet mode but that totally disables the sec system and the customer might not want that.

Ask your customer to ONLY lock and unlock with your (their) new transmitter.

lock and unlock with only trasmitter would work but if the customer hit the doorlock switch the factory alarm will arm and my unit will not dissarm it. Then the customer is stuck with an alarm going off and no way to start the car. I tried this and the customer came back saying she was unable to start the car as she was only carrying my remote not the factory.
