Hiya,

Can you do me a huge favor and direct me to some place where I can get the set-up codes for my alarm. I know it's like switching the valet switch, and pressing the tx and panic simultaniously, but what orders, and what the setting will adjust and how to adjust our unknown. I have the installation manual, but it doesn't tell anything but the jumper settings. Alpine can't help either, and I really don't want to pay $10.00 for an users manual for something that should be given for free.

Alpine really sucks in that department, no idea why they protect the set-up information, but anyone and their dog can get the information on how my system is wired up, should be the other way araound. Anyways, again, I got an Alpine SEC-8049.

THANKS!

Melissa

BTW: The instructions are for the 8052, but it will be the same for the 8049, 8059 series alarm systems.

Sorry to be a pain in the butt, but here's where I'm at right now.

I pulled the alarm from my old car before I sold it, it's been sitting in my closet for 4-5 months. Battery's in the remote were croaked, so replaced them today.

Now I've installed the system this afternoon in my new truck, but now have a new problem, how do I get the system to recognize the remotes again?

Wish the local shops wouldn't gouge so much for installs ($250, took me 2 hours, so that's $125/hour) or I would have got them to just do it already. A lot of work hiding all the componants and wiring. Heck, I can't even find the wires anymore.

An another note, do you know any companys that sell locking componants for the hood, that don't disfigure the vehicle?

Thanks for all your help!

Melissa

Ok, there was nothing wrong with the remote, just had to be 5 ft away from the vehicle or closer, that range sucks. Lights don't flash either, guess I'm gonna have to rewire the thing. Wish alpine was a bit more explainitory in the instructions. Like where the white and yellow/white have to run to get the lights operating. I don't know what n/o and comm are, but I know what positive and ground are. Right now I assumed from my last wiring, the yellow was a ground, white ran to the parking lights.

Gonna be a pro by the time I get this worked out.

Cheers

Melissa

Hey guy's I was wondering if eather of you could help me with wiring my 8049 back into my honda. I took it out of the car when it got written off a couple of years ago and I have just bought the same car again. My alarm too has been sitting in the closet but I have lost my manual somewhere along the way and can't remember where all of the wires go. It would be super cool if one of you could send me the info.posted_image
