Hi all,

This weekend I am going to install a remote start for my friend.  She bought it around christmas time.  Not sure on what model.  But I just did some searching on what I will need to install it.  Looks like everything is straight forward as far as wire diagrams and just connecting everything up.  The only spot I am seeing that is confusing is with the door locks, and factory alarm.  I'm unsure on wether or not she in fact has a factory alarm.  But from the wire diagrams, it looks like there is lock/unlock and factory arm/disarm wires.  Some diagrams say to use a relay and resistors on the arm/lock and disarm/unlock wires.  Others say to use the lock and unlock wire, and then use to relays and resistors on one wire for the alarm.  Just wondering what exactly I need here.  And where do I get a 647 ohm and 1562 ohm resistor from?  Radioshack

According to the diagram on this site for this vehicle, the lock system does not require resistors at all. Does the vehicle have a factory keyless or not? This is the first thing you need to know.

Lock/arm is negative trigger thru a 647 ohm resistor. Unlock/disarm is negative trigger thru a 1562 ohm resistor. MUST use relays. Unlock requires a double pulse.

yes you can pick them up at your local radio shack.  get 1/4watt resistors and wire'em up.  Now you may not find those exact values at radio shack but if you take two 325ohm resistors and wire them in series then you get the suggested 650ohm....and you have a small window of tolerance so they don't have to be exact but as close at possible.
