im in the process of finishing up my alarm and remote start sytem viper 791xv. and my car is a 1999 chevy tahoe. When i remote start it the check engine light comes on and the tranny dosent shift right. it is because i dont have the 2nd igniton output wired up properly? Will the 2nd igniton test exactly the same as the main igniton.  i tested the wire this webpage says is the 2nd igniton(white wire in ignition harness) and it tests at 12 volt in the start position, but when i cut it, the car will still turn over.

i need help guys, thanks

The 2nd ignition will have 12 volts on it in the crank position as well as the run position.

I believe in a 99 tahoe, brown is the second ignition and white is the third ignition, they both should be powered up.

my alarm only has an output for a 2nd ignition not a 3rd. and should the car still start if i cut the 2nd ignition wire, because when i cut the wire that tests like the 2nd ignition the car will still run.

on this web page it says the 2nd igniton is white and third igniton is brown. do i have to power the 3rd?

2nd ignition is white, you don't need to worry about a thrid ignition

The 2nd ignition will have 12 volts on it in the crank position as well as the run position. The BROWN wire in the ignition harness is only for radio, wipers, etc......
