This'll be my first time ever installing a car alarm. Ordered a guide on ebay, have wiring diagram for a 1996 Civic.. what do I need to complete this installation safely? I have a 1996 Civic EX w/manual transmission. I'll be doing the install by myself.. Can please assure me that this'll be easy..? Heh.. give me all the advice you can.

Also.. does it matter if you buy an RS alarm for auto or manual?

Yes it does. Manaul unit will have safety feature on them so that if you happen to leave your car in gear, you won't be able to remote start the car.

Am I going to need relays and what not?

You will need a Relay to bypass the clutch.

I just did an install on a 97 Honda civic manual Transmission. You do not need a relay to bypass the manual transmission. Turn your voltmeter to MA(or MV i forget) and press the clutch pedal all the way to the floor.

I do Honda's with (-) clutch bypass systems without a relay. Just tap into your status output wire and it is strong enough to trigger the clutch

I found this one on Ebay..

I think it's a Galaxy or CrimeStopper, wondering if it's any good.. because I can't find a ScyTek w/manual RS. And I was wondering if this is a good buy..

Says it'll make the RS install a lot easier.. I mean, I am a newbie. Basic audio installs is the hardest I've ever done. And that's pretty easy..

All I really want is paging/Keyless Entry/Remote Start and trunk pop.. w/ the alarm system. Let me know if I should just get the ScyTek one or should I get a manual tranny one.. or if anyone knows where I can get a manual tranny ScyTek 4000RS-2W1 for around $120-$130 shipped?
Thanks for all the help, guys.

Galaxy 5000RS2w-1 comes in a manual tranny version.

My supplier doesn't actually stock the manual tranny versions.  They have to be special ordered and I don't know how long the special order process takes.  I was interested in fooling with one of these when I had my manual tranny Accord.  But now i've got an auto tranny vehicle...and our market has NO demand for manual tranny Remote Starts.

Yeah, thanks for the reply, Jigga.. I just ordered the Galaxy 5000RS2W-1 on Ebay for the manual tranny one. Costs 10 bucks more than the auto tranny model. But yeah, is a digital multimeter ABSOLUTELY essential? Or can I use a test light thing? Thanks.
