Just out of curiosity, I was wondering how well these things help you and how much they cost??  I install for a living, and I was thinking that if they made a difference, then I might pick one up eventually.  I don't even know where to buy something like that though...any ideas?

up here they are only available to authorized dealers... down there who knows? you can usually buy anything in the world on ebay ( Bitwriters, rocket launchers, etc)

the certainly simplify programming on DEI's products... i'm to a point where i dont even like to program 561 series units because i still have to push the programming switch and count LED flashes, instead of just hooking up my Bitwriter and ripping thru it in 6 seconds or better yet just uploading a stored setup file....

For the advanced alarms they are indispensible. Think dealer cost is less than $60 but I don't remember exactly.
