My alarm has a feature that will alert me when I've left any of my doors open and I try to arm it. The wire I've connected my alarm to is my dome light wire and this light goes out immediatly when I close my door.
Now the problem:
Everytime I open then close my door and try to arm the alarm within around 2 - 5 seconds it will alert me asif my door is opened. If I do the same as above but wait for more than 5 seconds it will work fine.
Did I use the wrong wire or the wrong part of the wire?

This is caused by a slight domelight delay. As you shut the door the voltage being supplied to the dome light starts to disapate after a few seconds or however the factory has it set.. This is normal on some vehicles.

you can catch and diode isolate all door triggers

Check your alarm programming; it might have a door ajar delay feature. I had to activate it in my alarm.

Thanks for helping me out guys.

He means to find all the door triggers and diode isolate them instead of using the dome light.

the actual wire running out of all 4 door and but a diode inline search for diode isolation
