I have a Viper 791xv and I wanted to know if there is a way to turn the domelight on from the remote without disarming the alarm? I was reading about domelight supervision but it says "...when you disarm the car...."

You can, you'll have to use one of the auxillary outputs from your 791.  See the manual for which wires to use and how to program for it.

U could use a Pulse Timer to the Lock Wire

If your wire up your aux. output to the door pin wire and diode isolate it, that would turn your domelights on and not set off the alarm.

when using a diode, is the stripe closer to the alarm brain or farther away? (I forgot which way a diode goes)

Here is a little diagram for ya buddy. You don't wire the diode in with the alarm. You cut the car's door pin wire. Put the diode in line with the bar on the side of the fuse box, not on the side coming from the door pin. Now connect your aux wire on the bar side and connect your door trigger from the alarm on the other side. That way if the door is open it still sets off the alarm and turns your domelight on. When your aux wire pulses the door pin wire the current will not flow back through the door pin wire and set the alarm off. Now you have light and no false alarm.posted_image
