I've got a 94 Civic with power locks that stopped working.  I tried replacing the lock control module with a used one off ebay with no luck.  I want to know if I can skip the costly pursuit of the lock control module and just use relays.  The actuators are reverse polarity.  I can get them all to lock or unlock by applying 12v and a ground to the actuator wires.

I'm trying to set up the two relay per the gif file for reverse polarity either with or without a keyless entry.  The car has 175,000 miles on it and the less money spent the better.  Should I be able to connect the diagram alarm lock and unlock wires (86 and 85) to the factory three pole door switch with the center pole to ground?  Does that relay setup alternate +and- on output 30 depending on whether 86 or 85 has a ground?

Right now I'v got + on the unlock wire and I'm running - through the switch to the door lock wire and I can get the doors to lock.  I tried the relay setup using the car's switch to apply ground to 86 or 85 and I kept popping fuses.  I would think it should work but this is new to me.

All four doors lock and unlock if I apply + and - to the lock and unlock wires coming out the factor relay.  The car only has one switch in the drivers door.

It is a 1994 Civic EX Sedan.  I've checked the switch and it is fine.  I think I know why I keep poping fuses.  These autozone relays switch to both 87 and 87a at the same time.  So I was running positive and negative together at the same time.  Is it normal for relays to switch and connect 87 and 87a at the same time?

Funny thing is it is actually marked 87a on the fuse but 87 on the package.  I think I need to find the right relays!

I was finally able to locate the SPDTs locally.  I've got the door locks up and working and added in a keyless entry.  Works great.  Thanks for the help!
