I have the CS2011 RSIII alarm/rs and the LED seems to be VERY dim... It's getting its power and all, but it just seems to be really dim. Can I just swap it out for a brighter one from radio shack??

thanks!

chris

How do you determine the light output from a led, just looking at them they are all the same, I posted this question a while back and someone replied Varad makes bright one, going to their site they have many but not enough info to make a choice, at least I couldn't
Also what is the voltage output from an alarm to the led, I saw 3 and 12 volt led's, which voltage is needed.

okay, so i did some reasearch on this, and you can just get any 12 volt LED from radio shack that draws no more than about 15ma's for current.

the Varad LED's are supposed to be the brightest you can get, however, they're kinda hard to find other than off the net. the best place to get them? i found that EBAY had the best selection and the best prices.

For about $10 including shipping, you can supposedly get an LED so strong that you're not supposed to look at it with the naked eye!

So you just go red to red and black to black on the new LED and voila
