Can someone advise the model number of the key module needed for a 2000 Lincoln Navigator? I had a 791xv installed by a local shop. The remote start seemed to work ok at the shop, and worked one time for me. Things went downhill from there. I then started having problems starting the truck normally with the key after attempting a remote start, and it seemed to work if i pushed the unlock button again. Then the truck would not start at all (theft light on dash continues to flash with key in ignition). The guys from the shop came by and removed the transmitter loop from the ignition switch. They said I would have to bring the truck back and they may have used the wrong module for the key. I'm just hoping someone can look up the truck and find out the DEI part number of the key modulator that is supposed to be used, so I can verify if the shop is using the correct part. Thanks

www.howardkeys.com That is where we get all our Ford keys. We do not use keyless bypasses with Ford because they never seem to work perfectly for us.

I have the extra key (thanks for the site though since I'd like to get another key blank or two), I'm actually looking for information on the correct part number for the little modulator module that the extra key goes in, with the antenna loop that goes up and around the car's ignition switch. This is the part they are claiming may be incorrect.

BTW the process for programming a new key (ignition on and off with two programmed keys and the new key I believe) is nice to avoid paying the dealer a fortune to do the job. However, does anyone know if the dealer can program a blank key without cutting it for the ignition? This would be great because you could use a programmed but uncut key for the modulator box (I think that's what it's called), but the key would not actually work in the ignition to start the car (if someone was able to get in and find the box).

we buy uncut keys and put them in the coffins uncut. We just program them and leave them uncut when we put them in the bypasses. You can't order keys from Howard Keys unless you are a business. Part # DEI 556U Omega Pass4 Those are the ones we use.

Thanks for the information. How do you program the un-cut key? I thought you could program a new key yourself, but you had to have two other programmed keys and it required a special sequence of putting them in the ignition switch and turning the keys on and off. An un-cut key wouldn't be programmable this way, correct? BTW, where in Ohio are you located? I'm in Southern CA right now but may be moving back to the Cincinnati area soon, so it would be nice to know of a professional in the area

Key one turn to ON position Key 2 and turn to on position Key 3, insert in cylinder and then hit remote start since you can't turn the key. It is programmed.

Yes, that makes perfect sense. Now I just have to find someplace that will sell the blank to a private party. Thanks for all the info!

Your local Sears and Ford dealer all carry them. Sears charges $42 for the key but do not program it. Dealers charge $45 for the key and $40 for programming Our shop charges $35 for the key with free programming.
