ok i installed a dei valet 562t remote start system into a 1995 nissan 240sx automatic, even though im not a car electronics installer i am an ASE certified mechanic in auto electronics. ok i installed the system, hooked up door locks and remote start functions, hooked up the tach wire.... had the system learn the tach signal, fired her up with the remote start... all good, but now i have a cold start problem where in the mornings it will take a long time to crank to start(+10 secs) or it will crank for about 15 secs, stop, then fire right up when it starts cranking again. i have asked this question on my car forums and a member sent me here. i heard something about a cold start wire... but theres nothing named that in any of the wiring diagrams for the system, there are however secondary inputs for battery voltage that the book said i didnt need unless i needed more power for modules and such, well since i didnt add any modules, i didnt hook these up..... could this be my problem?.... anyone know how i can fix this?

many Nissans also have a cold starter and require that both starter circuits be powered...... your primary starter is BLACK / YELLOW and your second starter is BLACK/ green..... both need to be powered.... the 562 gives you a low current negative on the secondary ribbon cable for powering extra relays... use the violet second start wire to activate a relay for the BLACK/ green second start wire....

ok thank you, but i have one last question.... on the heavy guage outputs from the remote start system there was a secondary ign/acc.  output wire (pink & white) that i didnt need to hook up(or didnt think i needed to)... could i use that to connect to the cold start wire without using a relay?

The second start wire needs to be just that... a second starter wire. The pink/wht is a programmable second ign. or accy.

Another relay and harness is $5.... hell, you might even have one in your toolbox (things tend to collect in that one drawer). Any Bosch style 30A relay will do, as long as it has a set of normally open contacts.
