Got a 03 Silverado crew cab (4 windows) & 05 Tahoe that I'd like to control the windows.  I discovered that the grounds floats which means I have to provide ground instead of just applying positive to make the windows go up or down.  Is there a better way than to make relays?  Any modules for them?

Those windows are databus controlled. They make modules for them, I'm not sure who makes them though. I think its trilogix.

Jeff & Cutdog504,

Appreciate the response sirs,

I may be blind but where does it show that it will control the windows?  Is it a feature that is not mentioned?

Regards, Sean

My bad, it should be the GMDL4 but they no longer manufacture these because the MULTI-DL does everything the the GMDL1-GMDL4 was suppose to do. ( except power windows ).

Or if you feel like doing all the extensive labor, you can put two relays inside each door(which means you'll also have to run wiring to each door) and tap in directly at the power window motors. But you could only do this if you have an alarm with a validity output (the output is only active for as long as you hold the button down on the remote).

Or a 5a circuit breaker.

I did window drops for K-9's on a few Tahoe's and used relays & a 5a circuit breaker to break & reset the circuit.

I guess I'll have to go with the same concept.  Just thought there was a module specifically made for GM trucks & similiar vehicles.  Perhaps using the two window roll up modules that I already have for timing purposes of the first two to roll up then the next two... I imagine I'll have to come up with something to utilize the window roll up module's vent feature in hot weather.  I'll post what I learned if anyone haven't already.
