I am going to purchase a 12V battery, the ones that are used for home security alarms.

I considered getting the DEI 520T, but I doubt it will be able to run an alarm with 4 sensors, and 5 sesnors for an ample amount of time.

My questios is that how would I go about wiring this up?

Thanks.

2000 Acura Integra Type R

The following sensors:

Shock, Tilt, Glass (considering proximity)

The following sirens:

1 regular, 2 piezo's inside, 2 back up batterys.

I am also going to use the DEI window roll up kit.

All of this on a Compustar 2WSS-AS Alarm.

Thanks, let me know.

How long does it need to run? Remember, as soon as 520T loses power, it sets off the alarm.

If the alarm has been going off for more than 20 minutes and no one (including you) responds, then I think another 20 minutes isn't really going to matter.

The sensors take a neglible amount of current-- you could probably hook up 10 w/o significantly reducing the time the BUB can power the alarm. The sirens are more of an issue, but I still don't see that as a huge deal.

If you just use a (bigger) battery (w/o a 520T), then your alarm has no way of knowing if the car loses power. That's not good, either...

Just my $.02,

Well I can easily purchase a 12V home security back up battery for alot less then the D520T. Not to mention that those have higher amp ratings.

I am just wondering how I would be able to wire it up?

Thanks.

W/o the electronic equivalent of a 520T, I don't know-- I'm reasonably good at using relays and diodes, but I wouldn't want to create a 520T from scratch...

There was some talk about this ?6? months back, and someone said they were going to design a 520T-like device that could handle higher amp batteries. Nothing ever really came of it...
