HI, I am having trouble with  a command start / remote car starter, model 2400/2500. I need a wiring diagram or info on what the purple wire should be hooked to. I just bought a 90 Pontiac which had command start in it, but didnt work . When i ckd the wiring I found the switch in the off pos.and the purple wire came loose from where it was hooked to. this wire comes out of the unit from a plug with the main power and other wires. When i switched the unit on and tried to start  the car with remote it would try to start but would die immediatly.I think the previous owner had trouble with it and just shut the switch off and didnt fix the problem.I cannot see any where  where  that wire was hooked up, but the end of the purple  wire looks like it was connected to something. Can any one help me with this prob, it would be greatly appreciated  .  thanks   G M

Purple wire- Positive parklights

I really wouldn't put too much time and effort into that old CS unit.... the 2400/2500 series is pretty much 10 or so years old by now. Any of them that still work are getting pretty flaky...   My favourite is the intermittant "tach watch lockout" that some of them tend to develop.

Connecting the purple wire won't do anything to the start problem. Check to see if the tach wire (white) is attatched to anything.

You will most like have to reprogram the unit as well.
