I have a compustar alarm that has two aux outputs that can be set to latch or anywhere from 1 to 99 seconds. I was thinking it'd be pretty straightforward to wire these into my power windows just like a set of reverse polarity door locks, but what happens when someone presses the switch manually? In the wiring for reverse polarity door locks, everything rests at ground, so wouldn't pushing the switch manually cause a short to ground on the wire that would send 12V to the window motor? My power locks don't have manual switches, so this isn't a concern for them.

If you use Relays for 5 wire Reversal...............
Once the Relay is activated,  pushing on the switch would / should ( depending on how it was installed posted_image  ) have no effect until the Relay de-activates and goes back to Normal.
The idea behind Relay Reversals is to mimmic the switch

Even tho it is possible to hook up power windows by using relays, i would highly suggest using a power window module since it uses resistance to know when to turn it off. You would run the risk of burning out your power window motors ;) just a suggestion ;)

Yeah, I know the risks of it, but I kind of think that if they're just timed right it won't be an issue. At most the circuit will be on for a second longer than it takes to roll down the windows. The installation guide even mentions using the AUX outputs to do power windows. If it's that big of an issue I could just wire breakers into the windows anyway.
