first of all i apologize for double posting, i wasnt sure exactly where to post but i believe it would be in this area.

99 chevy cavalier 2.4L

i have keyless entry-lock/unlock doors and trunk release.

whenever i unlock/lock my doors with the keyless entry only the interior dome light comes on and after a few seconds dims away. i tried doin g some splicing and figuring out a way to connect the keyless entry module to either my parking or headlights but i cant seem to find and know for certain what im doin. if anyone knows or did this please let me know. thanks in advance.

What Brand & Model # is the RKE?
Most units have a timer built in for Dome lights & / or Parking Lights. Also ( if it's installed correctly ) turning on the Ignition will shut them off.

mo12v what do u mean by "What Brand & Model # is the RKE'? i do have the timer built in my dome light. i was thinking about splicing those wires and joining it with my parking or hi/lo beams.

Is this a Factory unit ( RKE...Remote Keyless Entry )?
Or Aftermarket?

o sorry, its the factory keyless remote. the only thing that i notice when i either lock or unlock is the interior dome light.

its taken from my haynes manual, i am having trouble reading and interpretting the wiring schematics to what im looking at in the car. if anyone has a step by step instruction on what and where to do the wiring that would be excellent help. thanks in advance
