DATABUS is simply a language that a computer use, like FORTRAN, PASCAL, C/C++, etc..

-there arent too many of this issues were concern, youre prolly the first on this forum.
---the multiplex system, as far as i am concern, its like a BCM. that one system can control a bunch of stuff, everything from dash to doorlocks. unlike the older technology where every circuits is independently, its now compiled into a smaller controller.

for a fact, Hondas have multiplex system thats built into the fuse box. unlike hondas, many domestics have its own system thats NOT built into the fuse box. some called, BCM, GEM, etc..

Close profuse007, but not quite. The databus language your referring to is: PL/B. In the automotive market, 'databus' refers to the physical layer.

Ronald Jergen has written some great books on automotive electronics so is highly recommended by many. Best of luck in your research.

You can start here

CAN is a Bosch creation.... and is looking good to be the next main data platform to be found in a majortiy of vehicles. Easy integration, very quick.... yadda yadaa...
