Is that simply an alarm unit that has a remote transmitter for control, combined into one with a pager receiver to receive status of alarm indications from the vehicle?

Is it basically the same, or is it more elaborate than that?

I just bought a standalone paging unit with LCD status display that seems very versatile, and wondered what the 2 way paging brings to the table. Is it mainly for the convenience that you don't need to carry a separate remote control and LCD pager receiver?
