do your homework on the cars wiring, figure out where you are going to get your wires at, where your going to mount the brain, sensors and siren. hide everything out of sight. make look as factory as possible. and when ever in doubt, ask questions dont guess.

yeah like gcorrea said, search online the wires for your year and model of your car . I would search for several and look for any diffrences. and even then you should test wires. i consider the wiring color code as a basic general guide to help speed up install. I would dissamble as much of the  underside of the dash as i could and mount the brain in there, then connect the wires as discretly as possible . basically you want to make it as difficult for someone else to get to as possible . but you still want to make it easy for you to access in case you ever needed to add other components or make adjustments.

And, to add.

1) Get ready to take apart more of the car than you bargained for. One of the "features" of a VW is hiding things all over the place. Doorlocks are in the door, doorpins are at the convenience module under the carpet in front of the driver's seat. So is hoodpin, and hatch pin. Diode isolate accordingly.

2) Starter kill really is a moot point.... without the key, you aren't going to start these cars (pretty solid factory immobilizer)

3)Take your time, do it neatly. There is a ton of good places to hide things under that dash, and many of them are hard to get at without some disassembly.

I would sooner do a VW than a newer Honda Accord as far as an alarm goes. (But hey, we specialize in Euro cars)

i just finished(well allmost) installing an Alpine sec-8052.but the wiring for the power locks is screwing me all up..the brain has internal relays for the door locks.

the problem...i can get the hook up right.

the sec8052 has 5 leads for the locks,,,,door lock common 30,door lock N/C 87a,door unlock common 30,door unlock N/C 87a.and the last one,wich is 2 wires going into 1 doorlock & unlock 87.....

ive gone over dozens of wiring diagrams, aswel as searched mu bently cd rom for the 02 passat....

HELP PLEASE!

as an incentive..im in vehicle graphics, vinyl decals..ill give the person who can give me the info i need some freebies, custom stuff just for them!

Unlock requires a double pulse. First pulse will disarm the alarm and unlock the driver door, second pulse will unlock all the doors.

GROUND = the last one, wich is 2 wires going into 1 doorlock & unlock 87.....

Lock Wire Red / Green = door lock common 30

UNLOCK Wire Red / Blue  = unlock common 30

87a Not used

Not a Dumb question..........
Ground the wire /s to the FRAME of the Vehicle or somewhere. As long as it is a GOOD Chassis Ground.
